You have a nasty nail infection, and i don't mean on your fingers and toes :tazz:

We are going to hit this with a big hammer.

Firstly please create a new folder on your C drive (for example C\HJT). Install HJT into that folder and run it from there. That way it can create backups if required.

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/
Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files. Do NOT run a scan yet.

Please download Nailfix from here:
http://www.noidea.us...050711214630636
Save it to the desktop but please do NOT run it yet.

Please download Cleanup from here:
Cleanup. Do not run it yet.

Set up PC to show hidden files.(Click link if you do not know how)
Show hidden files

please disable Winpatrol as it may interfere with what we need to do.

Click Start > Run > and type in:

services.msc

Click OK.

In the services window find .System Startup Service (SvcProc)
Rightclick and choose "Properties". On the "General" tab under "Service Status" click the "Stop" button to stop the service. Beside "Startup Type" in the dropdown menu select "Disabled". Click Apply then OK. Exit the Services utility.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

For additional help in booting into Safe Mode, see the following site:
http://www.pchell.co.../safemode.shtml

Once in Safe Mode, please double-click on nailfix.exe.
Click "Next" in the setup, then make sure "Run Nailfix" is checked and click "Finish".
Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly --- this is normal.

Then please run Ewido, and run a full scan. This may take some time, so go grab a coffee. Once it finds the first issue tick the box for all. Post the log from the scan here for me.

Then please run HijackThis, click Scan, and check:

Restart your computer in normal mode

Run this online virus scan: ActiveScan - Save the results from the scan!

please post a new HijackThis log, as well as the log from the Ewido scan and Panda.

I don't mean to sound completly stupid, but how do I create a new folder in the C drive? Should I unistall HJT, and reinstall in a folder? What would be the best way to do this?

Yep just create a new folder on your C drive and call it HJT, then install HJT into that folder .

Please download the Killbox by Option^Explicit. *In the event you already have Killbox, this is a new version that I need you to download.
Unzip it to the desktop.

Open Notepad, and copy everything in the code box below and paste it into a new notepad file. Change the "Save As Type" to "All Files". Save it as fixme.reg on your Desktop. Make sure there is NO blank line above "REGEDIT4"!

REGEDIT4

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CONTROLSET001\ENUM\ROOT\LEGACY_TBPSSVC]

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Y036]

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\INTERNET EXPLORER\ACTIVEX COMPATIBILITY\{53F066F0-A4C0-4F46-83EB-2DFD03F938CF}]

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS\CURRENTVERSION\APP MANAGEMENT\ARPCACHE\BARGAINBUDDY]

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS\CURRENTVERSION\APP MANAGEMENT\ARPCACHE\ZIPCLIX]

Locate fixme.reg on your Desktop and double-click on it. When it asks if you want to merge with the registry, click YES.

Reboot your computer into Safe Mode and rescan with HJT, check the following:

O20 - Winlogon Notify: Installer - C:\WINDOWS\system32\iafosoft.dll

Ensure no windows open except HJT and click fix checked

* Please run Killbox.

* Select "Delete on Reboot".

* Open the Notepad file where you saved the file paths earlier and copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting them and pressing CTRL + C:

* Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose "Paste from Clipboard".

* Click the red-and-white "Delete File" button. Click "Yes" at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click "No" at the Pending Operations prompt.

If your computer does not restart automatically, please restart it manually.

Rescan with HJT and post the log back.

Download Silent Runners
Unzip it to a permanent folder.
Start SilentRunners.vbs
When your antivirus is giving an alert, do not block this. Allow the script.
Copy and paste the content of the txtfile you get afterwards in your next reply.

I downloaded Silent Runners into a folder on desk top. When I opened it up and clicked on Silent Runners I got this message.

(The PDCOMP.DLL library cannot be loaded-Please re-install Powerdesk.)

When I clicked "OK" to this message it did nothing.

What am I supose to do? I am really trying to do everything you ask. If I have done something wrong here please let me know. I am not computer smart. I am trying my best to follow your directions. I thank you so much for all of your help. I really do appreciate you taking the time to give me help.

I re-downloaded Silent Runners into a folder on C drive, but I am still getting the same message about powerdesk. :tazz: I really don't know what to do. I hope you can figure out what I am doing wrong.

BTW: When I opened the folder on my C drive, I didn't see (silentrunners.vbs) I saw (Silent Runners.Zip). Is this a problem???

I am sorry for all of my troubles!

Right it sounds like you do not have an unzip program

Please download and install the following program.

easyzip

then click on the silentrunners zip file and unzip it to the folder you created. Then go to that folder and click on silent runners.vbs

I am sorry for the trouble that I am causing.
