hi

we jus started learning C in uni and to help us learn our uni has provided us with a program called tera term pro,

when we open tera term pro we have to type in
interactive.deakin.edu.au
as our host, then our username and password to log in

what i would like to know is, is it possible to us it on my own computer at home without logging into the deakin computers, also tera term pro has a command called
pine
whcih lets you send and read your emails through unix, can i use pine on other accounts such as gmail?

thanks,
ben

I live in Melbourne, and I program in C, I have never heard of tera term pro. Shouldn't you try asking a teacher?

i agree with ratmilk as far as asking your teacher about using it at home (it may be something where it's only licensed to the school.) as far as pine goes...from what i recal pine can check mail from any smtp or pop server...don't quote me on that....i don't know that it would be able to do web-based mail
