If this list is accurate and BF2 will play with the 9200 PCI card at low settings, then how do I know that the card is at the right settings? (ie LOW VS HIGH). I appreciate all the help so far. It appears a new graphic card is THE answer. Correct? Or is another driver/card the answer? Sorry, but like I said, I am not that computer savvy regarding hardware issues.

well.. you change the settings in the game... but obviously you can't get into the game. sooo... we gotta figure out what's wrong... but if nothing fixes it... then Yes.. buying a new video card would be the answer.

also if u uninstall the game, and re install it then it should automaticly set to low settings, u can use google to find the ngo drivers. they are a simple set of modded drives to make your card preform better. use the newest drivers from ati with the ngo drivers. hear is a link for u directo to the NGOHQ site.

go to www.ibuypower.com, good selection for laptops able to play games.

back to the original question, it might not only be the video card.
how much memory do you havE? BF2 sucks memory i had 1024 MB and it barely ran, get 1.5 GB mem total for med settings

1 gig is more than suffucient if the rest of the system is capable of it, i have had the demo running maxed out no lag with good fps. BF2 is very intensive on the CPU and the GPU adding more ram is just "putting a band aid on it" not a good option as there are newer games more demanding than bf2 on the way UT2007 i cant wait and the stargate game i cant wait.

I know, I ran the demo perfectly too, but when i got the full vesion

It sucks so much memory, it needs 1 gig at least, 1.5 GB for minimal lag

well i had little lag but not much. i now have 768mb of ddr pc3200 rosewell ram, 1.0ghz athlon processor oc to 1.2, and just installed a asus FX5200 128mb. i found out i am run some of the settings on med without lagging at all. but it is cuse i now have pixel shadeing. the 9200 se i have dose not support pixel shadeing. i have noticed a diff.. next project is a asrock 939dual-sata2 mobo ordered from the uk, and a athlon xp 3000 64-bit venice core {already in hand} wanting to see just how good this thing is. me and a friend both are getting it and seeing just how far it will go.. wish us luck, and wish i could be more of help. but i am out of ideas. goodnight all.

The 3200 is easier to overclock, i pushed it to 2.5 with clockgen and it performed perfectly i could have went further easily when i looked at the temps which are really good. Never even been above 50 at full load on a hot day.

Dont know where you are reading that but its not possible on air, 2.8 is as far as it will go stable. With water cooling you might get to 3.2 if it is a very good kit.
