in excel i am importing data from an sql query. i would like to group this data by the first four letters of their sku. sample vtud23 the two numbers on the end denote the color code used for the product. how can I group them by just the first four letters. i would like the quantitys of the similar skus to be totaled. is it posible to do in the query builder some how? or in the sql portion of query builder? or how would i do this? thanks!

bemiddy,
You could add a column titled SKU4
The cells in this column could contain a formula =left(B66,4) to display the first 4 characters.
You could then add a pivot table to count the entries for each SKU4 or calculate the sum of another column for each SKU4.
