Old school SimTower wont install on xp

hey, im having trouble installing SimTower on my new comp. with xp pro. I get a message when i click on its icon in my computer:

16 Bit Windows Subsystem
C:/Windows/system32/autoexec.nt. THe system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft WIndows applicatoin. Choose close to terminate the application.

anyone know whats going on?
