I have Windows XP. Internet Explorer. I have my setting as to not use Auto Complete. If i clean history and delete all cookies and files....there is nothing avail. when the scroll down arrow on my address bar shows....

If i type in 'a' in address bar, if i had history id expect all my 'a' past sites would show up. With it clear non should....however, randomly it will suggest a few odd things/files either on my computer, or a past website seen ages ago.

Out of curiosity why are these things still picked up??

At my work computer, if i clear all....any letter would come up 'search for a'....or 'search for b'....showing no history.

Any advice welcome.

Let us take a closer look at what is running on your PC. We'll need you to use a free diagnostic tool (HiJackThis) and post a log back here with the results.

Click the HijackThis Guide in my signature, download it and follow the instructions in the guide.

Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, DO NOT delete or modify anything yet! Someone will be along to tell you what steps to take after you post the contents of the scan results.
