Hello !
since yesterday evening I have a problem with my XP system.
When starting and logging on, the system does not recognize my
existing profile , and it creates a new profile under
C:\Documents and Settings\TEMP\myuser
insteady of using the still exsiting
C:\Documents and Settings\myuser

Spybot and Hijackthis could not resolve the problem.
Anybody any ideas ?

thanks !

I've seen this problem before when your profile gets corrupt. You may or may not be able to resolve the problem like this:

1. Create a new admin profile
2. Logout, log back into the new profile, then logout again
3. login with the "temporary" profile or another profile altogether
4. Right click "My Computer", choose properties>advanced>user profiles
5. Copy your original profile to the newly created profile
6. Log out and back into the new profile.

Alternatively, you can just manually copy file from Documents and Settings\oldbusteduser to Documents and Settings\newbornuser assuming you are not logged in as either of those two at the time.

Hope this works. I can't think of anything else right now... Good luck.
