Blue screen but not BSOD

I started my laptop the other day and out of the blue (no pun intended) a blue screen appeared but it wasnt bsod it had a windows logo on it. more like the welcome screen during setup. I lent my laptop to my sister and it came back like this. Anyone any ideas?

Do you know what your sister did with the computer while she had it? I would suggest posting that in detail so the admins/mods can help you further. :tazz:

Dont know what she did. She is only 9. If i could access it at all then I could check the logs but I cant understand why I am getting this type of blue screen. I'm going to try the repair console later. That might fix it.

the same exact thing just happened to me last night. i have no idea why it happened, but every time i try starting up my computer, it ends up at this blue screen with the windows logo, and even though the mouse moves, i can't get past it. i'm stumped. let me know if you get anywhere with it.
