I have NOrtan antivirus but it cant repair it.....and it has infected C:\windows\system\wininet.dll could someone please help....?

i have tried following the recommended steps but i cannot run any of the programs stated i get a error message saying.... Cwshredder has caused an error in <unknown> Cwshredder will now close etc

hi just joined....this bloodhound thing has infected my C:\windows\system\wininet.dll file and i dont know what to do....i have tried using the programs that are suggested but i get an error message sayin that it has caused an error in <unknown> and then it closes.

Please keep all responses to this particular issue in this thread. I have merged your other thread here so everything is together.


I see you are running Hijackthis from your desktop. Please create a directory on your c: drive called c:\hijackthis and move hijackthis into that directory. Run the program from that directory from now on. It is essential that you follow these steps or certain important features of the program will not function correctly.

Once you have Hijackthis running from a within a folder please reboot and post a new hijackthis log.
