I have too many computer problems...and too many computers!!!
OK, here it goes:

My Windows 95 (laptop) is great. No problems. But the OS is very old (windows 95) and I wanted to update it to windows XP or Windows 98.
I have the windows XP Pro,XP Media Center 2004, and 98SE disks. If i could update this computer to any of these, please reply!!!
Specs:

Windows 95
32 MB EDO RAM
2-3 GB Hard Drive
16x CD-ROM
other stuff

I am reading this off the faded box...
I couln't tell if it said 2 or 3 GB Hard Drive
The computer says comething around 2.5 GB

Also, that computer DOESNT have internet
thanks

98SE is the only one of those which does not need activation.

Do you intend to clear the drive then install it

Hi RCTJ

Go to Microsofts web site and check out the min specs required for each OS, only 98 will run on that cp, XP will complain during the install that there is not enough HD space, Memory, etc, etc. Don't even think that Media Center will run on that.

If there is no problems with 95, I would just leave it alone, you will have to do a major hardware upgrade to the laptop, which might be cheaper buying another one instead.

Howdy:

Based on your system specs, Win98SE is the ONLY one of those you are going to be able to run.. 32 megs of ram won't even load the XP logo!!
