I have been listing on eBay for years without any problems. Yesterday I listed and item, got though all the steps OK but when I got to the "Review and Submit" page I couldn't scroll down to the submit button. Scrolling brought me down only to "descrption" and no further. Windows 98/Netscape 7.2. Need help desperately as I have loads of items to list.

Have used IE successfully for years but there's been a problem with it recently which is the reason I changed to Netscape. Anytime I use IE, I get a mesage almost immediately that it has to close with the "send error report", "Don't send".

Suspect it may be related to adware, spyware, etc. I run SpyBot regularly. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi dtpikul. Welcome to GTG. <_<

Let us take a closer look at what is running on your PC. We'll need you to use a free diagnostic tool (HiJackThis) and post a log back here with the results.

Click the HijackThis Guide in my signature, download it and follow the instructions in the guide.

Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, DO NOT delete or modify anything yet! Someone will be along to tell you what steps to take after you post the contents of the scan results.

  • Prepare CWShredder:
    • Download CWShredder v1.59.1.
    • Save it to your desktop.
    • Do not run it yet. We will run it later.
  • Run Symantec's BackDoor Removal Tool:
    • Download the Backdoor.Agent.B Removal Tool from Symantec.
    • Follow Symantec's instructions for how to run it.
    • Be sure to save the log file. I will need to see it later.
    • Restart your computer.
  • Run CWShredder. Be sure to click Fix as opposed to Scan Only. It should find some things and remove them.
  • Restart your computer once more.
  • Post a new HijackThis log and the log Symantec's tool gave you.
Thanks to shadowwar @ SWI for this fix.

Save the log from backdoor removal and end the process. Run CWS Shredder and after it goes through its program, open up Hijack This, run it and post a new log so we can look at it.

Again thanks for all of your efforts on my behalf. I am running back door again but since it hasn't finished in prior attempts and gives me the "cannot be found on this computer" message, I don't know how I can get to the log. I didn't restart my comuter after loading BackDoor as The active icon did appear on my desktop. Must be obvious that I am a neophte to all of this but am learning a lot from you. Please be patient with me !

Hi

Me again. I don't know about you, but I'm getting exasperated but still determined.

I retarted my computer and the backdoor log icon appeared on my deskpot. When I clicked it, I got a message saying it is not a valid win 32 application, therefore I can do nothing. Im going to try running the back door too again. Will keep you posted.

No matter how I try, I cannot get FX agent log to come up, I save it (107 bytes) but can't open it as I keep getting the message that it is not a valid win32 application. Have tried saving in various locations to no avail. Think I hit a wall. When I run backdoor, it still seems to stop early and I get the message that it can't be found on this computer. Even though this happens every time, I do get a FXAgentBlog icon on my desktop. This is the one that I have saved in various locations but can't open as it's not a valid win32 application. Any suggestions?? Thanks again.

This is a new fix, and since you're having trouble I wonder if it isn't operational on Windows 98. I will look into that. You're just one of the unlucky ones that has a really nasty thing going on on your machine. You need to just take a breather.

Admin or one of the other mod's will be along to look at it when they get a chance. In the meantime, I will keep looking on how to fix you.

You just have to believe that it will get fixed - these things take time. Hang in there. <_<

Thanks. I'lll hang in there. In the meantime. I'm going to try to find a Symantec help site to see if there's anything there about the log and win32. I've had computers for many years and have had a lot of experience with "help" but I have never encountered the quality, efficiency, promptness and courtesy that I have experienced with you. In all cases in the past, the "helpers" have you try a few things, then give up if nothing works. You guys are unbelievable!

Forgot to mention the messages I get on startup- they could be clues.

1. error loading CWindows System\control panel dll

2. dynamic link library failed

3. server profile is damaged

4. windows\hponreg\remind schedule

I just click and loading continues. Hope this helps.
