I have this thing that has been happening recently on my computer where, if a program is not responding and that windows window comes up where it says "such and such program is not responding' and then it asks u to send it to windows because and then after that, when its done, you close the window. Do u know what I mean? Anyway, normally, at the top of that window that comes up, it says Windows Explorer(I think that that's right, but I'm not sure???), but sometimes, it instead says 'DrWatson PostMortem Debugger' at the top, saying that that is a program that isn't responding and blah blah blah. Now, I KNOW that I do not have a program that is called that, so I think that that's weird. Also, when i close that window, the computer starts acting funny, and eventually my computer freezes, and its acting so weird and slow, I have to actually MANUALLY restart it. It's really strange. I'm thinking it's a virus, because it's slowing down my computer. But I run virus scans regularly with my norton antivirus, my ad-aware, and my spy sweeper, and no problems come up on there. PLEASE HELP!! Thanks

Let us take a closer look at what is running on your PC. We'll need you to use a free diagnostic tool (HiJackThis) and post a log back here with the results.

Click the HijackThis Guide in my signature, download it and follow the instructions in the guide.

Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, DO NOT delete or modify anything yet! Someone will be along to tell you what steps to take after you post the contents of the scan results.

Go to control panel, add/remove programs and uninstall any or all of the following:
Viewpoint
Viewpoint Manager
Wild Tangent
WeatherBug
Gain
Gator
GMT
Any toolbar/searchbar you see besides google. If you don't have google and need a toobar then download the google toolbar.

Reboot.

You may wish to print out a copy of these instructions to follow while you complete this procedure.

Please save Hijack This in a permanent folder (i.e. C:\HJT). This ensures backups are saved and accessible.

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ViewMgr] C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Manager\ViewMgr_.exe
O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Sun Java Console - {08B0E5C0-4FCB-11CF-AAA5-00401C608501} - (no file)

Please reboot into safe mode - How do I boot into "Safe" mode?.
Be sure you're able to view hidden files, and remove the following files in bold (if found):

C:\Program Files\Viewpoint

Reboot normally and post fresh log with any information pertaining to this. Dr. Watson is installed with windows, don't worry about that program.

I have the exact same problem happening, can you tell me if this might be related or the cause of my script error i cant fix? I am trying to reinstall my sbc yahoo browser and I keep getting a "an error has occurred in the script on this page" message. I have done everything as far as internet options reset and even run command Regsvr32 urlmon.dll. I am at a loss of what to do next. Then this drwatson postmortem started popping up. So I was hoping to find out the 2 might be related and then if so ...who do I kill?? lol jk if so what do i need to do?

Next post your Hijack This log in the "Hijack This Logs" subforum to be analyzed. Posting in another users topic makes things confusing.

Go to the main forum room and scroll down to the "Spyware and Viruses" forum and right underneath that there is the "Hijack This Subforum" :D
