Hi,

Last night when I disconnected from Internet I received this message:

Internet Explorer has encountered a problem with an add-on and needs to close.

The following add-on was running when this problem occured:

File: googletoolbar2.dll
Company Name: (not verified) Google Inc.
Description: Google IE Client Toolbar

Then another window message came up when I clicked continue...and it said:

iexplore.exe- Application error

The instruction at "0x1001c434" referenced memory at "0x00000004". The memory could not be "read".

Click ok to terminate program.

I clicked ok...it popped back up...clicked ok again...then message was gone.

This exact thing has happened the last couple of times that I've gotten off of internet.

Any suggestions?

I have McAfee, Spyblaster, Ad-Aware SE, Spybot, Hi-Jack This all on my computer already ...all are up to date...along with windows updates.

Try putting your windows xp disk into the disk drive and click Start, search, and search for files and folders. type "ie.inf" without the quotes in the search box. When it is finished finding it right click the file and click "install". It is going to ask you for the location of some files (this is where the install disk will come into play) click "browse" and select your cdrom drive and select the I386 folder click "ok" the line should say something like this: d:\I386. This will reinstall internet explorer and hopefully fix your problem. I think you will then need to go to windows update to download service pack 1 and all updates for internet explorer. This is not service pack1a for windows, it is a service pack for IE and Outlook.
