Usually I manage to fix the messes my son and sister make on our computers on my own, but this one has me stumped. AVG keeps coming across b.com, dropper.agent.dd, and appwrap. The computer is my father's and I don't know what all of these items are, so I don't know what is out of place. Ewido is forthcoming and HJT is as follows:

Welcome to GTG.

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should 'not' have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

Go to My Computer->Tools/View->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that 'Show hidden files and folders' (or 'Show all files') is enabled. Also make sure that 'Display the contents of system folders' is checked. If you have Windows XP, the search feature is a little different. When you click on 'All files and folders' on the left pane, click on the 'More advanced options' at the bottom. Make sure that 'Search system folders', 'Search hidden files and folders', and 'Search subfolders' are checked.

For the options that you checked/enabled earlier, you may uncheck them after your log is clean. If we ask you to fix a program that you use or want to keep, please post back saying that (we don't know every program that exists, so we may tell you to delete a program that we think is bad to keep).

The Temp folders should be cleaned out periodically as installation programs and hijack programs leave a lot of junk there. OK, before we go on, I want you to take note of this first. This program will wipe out all files in your Temporary folders, any file extensions that have a tilde (~) in it, .bak files, .chk files, .tmp files and index.dat files. Most of you should be ok with this, but there may be some who need these files. If you are one of them, do not follow this step. Post back a reply telling us about this. So if that's ok, then download CleanUp! http://cleanup.stevengould.org/ (Alternate Link if main link don't work - http://www.greyknigh...spy/CleanUp.exe ) and install it. Don't run it yet.

Restart your computer and boot into Safe Mode by hitting the F8 key repeatedly until a menu shows up (and choose Safe Mode from the list). In some systems, this may be the F5 key, so try that if F8 doesn't work. Make sure to close any open browsers. Run a scan in HijackThis. Check each of the following and hit 'Fix checked' (after checking them) if they still exist (make sure not to miss any):

Check and fix ALL those O18 entries related to Logitech except for the first one (see below line). Leave that one alone:

Delete the following Files/Folders (delete folders if no filename is specified) according to their directory (if none, just do a search for them) and delete them if they exist:

C:\WINNT\dsr.dll
C:\WINNT\system32\ujmlugva.dll
C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\
C:\WINNT\cfgmgr52.dll
C:\WINNT\system32\PSof1.exe
C:\WINNT\system32\lanbrup.exe
C:\WINNT\System32\irftp.exe
C:\WINNT\dinst.exe
c:\winnt\system32\gcthcv.exe

Run CleanUp! and click on CleanUp! button. Once it's done, you may click the Close button. When asked if you want to logoff, choose No.

Restart and run a new HijackThis scan. Save the log file and post it here. Give me this log also:

Download FindIt's.zip http://forums.net-in...=post&id=142443 to your desktop.
1. Unzip/extract the files inside to a folder on your desktop.
2. Open the folder. Double click on FindIt's.bat and wait for Notepad to open a text file. It will take a while so please be patient... Note: If you are having problems using FindIt's.bat (16 bit error), copy autoexec.nt from the C:\WINDOWS\repair folder to C:\WINDOWS\system32 folder. Now try running FindIt's.bat.
3. Then post the results here along with the new HijackThis log. Also post the Ewido scan results here

Upload this file (C:\WINNT\system32\mLcrovsn.dll) to http://virusscan.jotti.org and report back what it found.

Thank you for your response. After following the steps you requested I haven't had any incidents of pop-ups, or with AVG complaining about trojans.

Regarding C:\WINNT\system32\mLcrovsn.dll, virusscan.jotti.org says "The file you uploaded is 0 bytes. It is very likely a firewall or a piece of malware is prohibiting you from uploading this file."

Logs as follow (I don't THINK I missed any information you requested):

Download L2MFix from one of these two locations:

http://www.atribune....oads/l2mfix.exe
http://www.downloads....org/l2mfix.exe

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts. Then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing Enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening. After a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 or any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

Make sure you post the above log first before moving on.

Now I want you to do this:

Close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.

From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing 2 and then pressing Enter, then press any key to reboot your computer. After a reboot, your desktop and icons will appear, then disappear (this is normal). L2MFix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new HijackThis log.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder unless you are asked to do so!

Also run new scans for FindIt and Ewido. Post all the logs here (2 L2MFix logs, HijackThis, Ewido, and FindIt's).

Delete these if found:

C:\WINNT\System32\MC-110~1.EXE
C:\WINNT\OWGDBK~1.EXE
C:\WINNT\system32\ringtone2.ico
C:\WINNT\system32\sony psp1.ico
C:\WINNT\system32\virushunter4.ico
C:\WINNT\system32\xboxab.ico

Do a search for n?pdb.exe and right click on any of the files found. Go to Properties->Version tab and see if it's from Microsoft. Do this for each file found. If it's not from Microsoft (or doesn't even have a version tab) and it was created recently, then delete it.

OK, it looks like you gave me a very old HijackThis log. Please delete all the older HijackThis logs you saved earlier and run a new scan. Give me the new HijackThis log now.

Perfect. I think you got it all :tazz:

Your log is clean.

To help prevent future spyware installations/infections, please read the Anti-Spyware Tutorial and use the tools provided.

Are there any problems now? If not, you should be set to go.
