When you installed MessengerPlus3, it may have downloaded a ton of stuff that is causing problems for you now.

Follow these instructions from John McKenna.

The easiest way to remove Lop is by using the uninstaller contained in Messenger Plus itself.

Copy the below steps to notepad, close Internet Explorer and disconnect from the internet.

1. Go to Add/Remove programs. Double click on "Messenger Plus!" (or click on Remove)

2.  The "Messenger Plus! - Setup" is now displayed. Click on the Uninstall button. Note: options displayed on the first screen are not related to the sponsor program.

3.  The sponsor screen is now displayed (if you don't see it, search for it in your Task Bar). To prove that someone is currently reading the screen, you have to type the code that is displayed. Once you enter the code, press Uninstall.

4.  If you entered the code properly, the program will ask you to confirm that you want to uninstall. You MUST answer "Yes" to this question or you won't have another chance of uninstalling.

5.  To complete the uninstallation, follow the instructions that are displayed (making sure all Internet Explorer windows are closed). When everything is complete, restart your computer and, hopefully the infection should be gone.

6.  Please then post a fresh log (in this thread) after rebooting.

If you want to keep Messenger Plus, download it again AFTER we've cleaned you.
The Lop sponsored advertising program must be rejected. Read the installation procedures carefully. When you get to the Sponsor Agreement select: ’I Refuse to give my support, install Messenger Plus! without the sponsor'.

There are quite a few programs available that offer protection features to help keep a computer from getting infected. While this is normally a helpful feature, it can keep a victim from making the changes necessary to clean their comptuer. Please read the following and uninstall or disable those that apply to your machine.

Please save Hijack This in a permanent folder (i.e. C:\HJT). This ensures backups are saved and accessible.

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.

Reboot your PC.

Please reboot into safe mode (continually tap the F8 key while your system is starting, select Safe Mode from the menu).
Be sure you're able to view hidden files, and remove the following files in bold (if found):


C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\onlineteamproxyspam\<<this folder if you checked it up top
C:\DOCUME~1\SUN\APPLIC~1\KEEPLI~1\<<this folder if you checked it up top

Click on the button labeled CleanUp!.

When it finishes it will prompt you to restart Windows - there will be one or two files it cannot delete when Windows is running - however, they will be deleted next time Windows starts up.


If you would please, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log in this same topic, and let us know how your system's working.
