I want to transfer my Digital video tapes on to DVD. I have Windows XP.

1, should I buy a DVD Writer for my PC or should I buy a DVD recorder?

2, If I go down the PC route, I will need to purchase a DVD writer, a firewire care, cable and software. Is this all I will need?

3, What software should I purchase. I have been advised to get one of the following, Roxio/Adobe Premier/Nero 6. I have no knowledge of any of these so suggestions would be welcome. As I'm a complete beginer, which one would suit me?

4, I don't want to record progs off the TV, so should that exclude the standalone Recorder?

Advice welcomed. :tazz:

well if you have a lot to do I would check out the dedicated route.

something like this

may not quite be the right format for your system, but thats what I would do. btw that was just a quick example. I know that pioneer and phillips both have models available.
