Howdy:

No, all you lose is the Autoupdate feature.. You will just have to keep it updated manually!!

So once 14 days has run out, you can still use it? You can still perform scans etc. and have realtime protection from it?

http://www.ewido.net/en/features/

These features are no longer available when the program reverts to the free version from the PLUS version, as far as I can see:

Additional features of the Plus-Version

Realtime monitoring of the entire system
Memory Scan detects active threats
Self-protection at kernel layer guarantees gapless monitoring
Scan inside archives
Secure detection and deletion of DLL-Trojans
Automatic online-update

It is unfortunate but business is business.

The program remains a powerful adjunct to your system of prevention. You do the updates manually and run the scans faithfully and you will be happy to count it among your favorite tools.

I have kept it on mine and it helps me stay out of trouble, even where I have to go.

Last month, I needed help removing a virus from my computer. I joined this forum and was able to get my system cleaned out. Thank you to UKBiker.
Since my 14 day free trial of Ewido has expired, I have been updating it and running it manually. Now, my question is: If I were to open the program and minimize it (to my taskbar), because it is opened, will it be activated and warn me if a threat is trying to download to my computer? Or, must I continue to scan my computer manually by actually clicking on the scanner buttons for it to work? Thank you for your help. :tazz:

Hi Nancy

unfortunately, the real time protection in Ewido is disabled after the trial period, so it wont do what you ask about.
