I just switched from Windows ME to Windows XP on one of my comuters, but now Windows won't recognize my modem. I have a regular modem I just don't know how to delete it and reinstall it because now my start up discs won't work because I switched from XP to ME. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi and welcome to Geeks to Go. You need to see if you can find a WXP driver for your modem. Try going to M$ and run windows update. It may find the driver for you. If that does not work, you will have to find one. If you don't know the make/model of your modem, run Belarc Advisor (search google for it). It will tell you all about your system components. Ultimately, you may find the modem is simply not supported for WXP. I had to dump a sound card/modem combo on an older HP I upgraded to W2K. I simply went out and bought a $20.00 modem and replaced it. I had to buy a sound card too. Oh well...These things happen....
