I have posted a simular post in the malware topics but i am unsure if it is suited.

I ran the suggest scans several times thru removing loads of rubbish.

However, I now cant log onto XP home ed.

After entering password, XP proceeds to log on, however I see the screensaver for a few moments then XP logs me out. I can log in with the same user account in safe mode.

I have tried the fix as suggest by Lavasoft Knowledge Base Article 04060901
(fixing userinit.exe in registry)
and i have tried repairing xp installation but i still cant log in.

Can i still use Hijack this in safe mode?

any help here would be appreciated

But do not install SP2 untill you are positive your machine is virus and spyware free.
