i bought a raidmax x-1 case, a pc-chips m981g motherboard and 256 ram from newegg.com. as far as i know theyre all compatible, thats all i have so far. i dont have a processor yet, i dont know whether the bios needs the processor to start or not. this is my first time building a computer. also, the thermal display or whatever on the front of the raidmax case wont come on, i dont know if the drivers need to be installed or what. ive also read some other problems about this but they all had their processors mentioned, that and i think i cleared the cmos or the jumper. any help with this would be appreciated.

All the parts need to be together for it to work. Yes, the CPU and BIOS need each other. The main cause of failure in new builds is not setting everything up properly before turning it on.

well, ive already ordered the processor, so when i do get it i hope it does work. as far as i know everything connected but im not sure what h.d.d. led or whatever is, there isnt any thing to connect to it, i think it might have to do with the thermal display. anyway, thank you.

You should never attempt to start the computer before you have everything installed and you shouldnt start putting a pc together untul you have all the parts for it. It is the casuse for alot of problems people have.

well, know i know and knowing is half the battle? i wasnt really sure whether the bios could run without the processor. i know more about software than i do hardware, which is why im trying to build one, to know. if i screw it up then i guess its my fault for not asking first. thank you.
