I have been facing a problem with my used Toshiba Satellite notebook ever since i bought it. instant access was installed on it (electronic-group related dialer) plus i had these casino and nuker popups appearing minutes after starting explorer

I have done all the steps to clean the computer (all the steps mentioned were done before) and what's weired is that after deleting instant access and cleaning the registry and deleting the certificate, it keeps installing itself every 10 days, plus i have these annoying popups which i can't get rid of (even after deleting the cookies)

below are the reports from hijackthis and ewido
thanks in advance

Welcome to GTG.

Did you delete instant access right before you ran this HijackThis scan? I'm not seeing anything suspicious here except for one file.

Upload this file (C:\WINDOWS\system32\IDispChg.exe) to http://virusscan.jotti.org and report back what it found.

Run both of these scans:
Run an online virus scan at TrendMicro http://uk.trendmicro...call_launch.php. Just follow the instructions on the site to run the free online scan. If any viruses/trojans are detected, try to delete or clean them in that site. If any are not cleanable, copy and paste the infected files here. You may also use Panda ActiveScan at http://www.pandasoft...ucts/activescan. Post the log from the Panda scan here.

Give me this log also:
Right click on http://www.silentrun...ent Runners.vbs and choose Save As...Save it to your Desktop. Make sure you have disabled any programs that may block/disable scripts (ex: Ad-Watch, TeaTimer, Norton, etc.). Double click on 'Silent Runners' to run it. This will take a few minutes. It will create a file called 'Startup Programs' followed by your computer name and current date. Open up that file and post all the contents here in your next post.

Instant Access was deleted about 3 days before running the scan, but here's something new i noticed which might help a bit; whenever i have a connection and i open the explorer browser, i check if the trusted certificates are clean and i have only the Norton certificate, then after 1 or 2 minutes i get either some casino ar nuker popup (a full screen popup) after which the Electronic-Group certificate reappears right under Norton

All the scans i did so far state that my computer is clean, but if i do not delete the egroup certificate regularly, instant access dialer will install itself again

Thanks for your feedback

What is the report on that file I asked you to upload?

Where is the Silent Runners log?

Does the certificate get deleted somehow? If not, can you give me a new HijackThis log? Also do this. Go into HijackThis->Config->Misc Tools->Open Uninstall Manager and click on the button to create the list. Post that list of installed programs here.

The file you asked me to upload turned out to be OK as well as the online scans
As for the certificate, i delete it everytime myself, but it reappears once an advertisement full screen popup takes place (mostly Casino and Nuker)

Please make sure that Word Wrap is turned OFF in Notepad before you post your HijackThis log next time. As you can see, the formatting it creates (see the log you posted) makes it harder for us to read it.

I don't see anything much here except for one entry.

See if you can find (search) and delete these files:

011145.exe
egcomlib_1031.dll
egcomlib_pack.inf
egcomlib2.dll
egdaccess_1060.dll
instant access.lnk

Go to Start->Run and type in:

regsvr32 /u egcomlib_1031.dll

and hit OK. See if that unregisters it. Either way (works or not), I want you to go to Start->Run and repeat this for:

regsvr32 /u egcomlib2.dll
regsvr32 /u egdaccess_1060.dll

Did any of them unregister successfully?

Download KillBox http://www.greyknigh...spy/KillBox.exe. Run KillBox and check the box that says 'End Explorer Shell While Killing File'. Next click on 'Delete on Reboot'. Copy the below files and go back to KillBox. Go to File->Paste from Clipboard and then hit the button with a red circle and white X. Confirm to delete and when asked if you want to reboot, say no:

c:\windows\system32\dcznbag.exe

Go to Start->Run and type in regedit and hit OK. Go to File->Export and save the registry somewhere as a backup. While in the Registry Editor, navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and delete dcznbag

If any of the above registry keys are giving you problems deleting, right click on them and click on Permissions. Then click on the Advanced button. Make sure the first box (Inherit from parent...) is checked. Click OK and OK. Then try deleting the entry again. Once you're done, close the Registry Editor.

For the Ewido log, I just want to ask you one question on it. Did you run it in Safe Mode? If not, I want you to check for updates first and then afterwards boot into Safe Mode and do this:

Now open Ewido and do a scan on your system.

* Click on scanner
* Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
* NOTE: During some scans with Ewido it is finding cases of false positives.
o You will need to step through the process of cleaning files one-by-one.
o If Ewido detects a file you KNOW to be legitimate, select none as the action.
o Do NOT select 'Perform action on all infections'
o If you are unsure of any entry found, select none for now as the action.
* Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
* Click Save report.
* Save the report .txt file to your desktop or a location where you can find it easily.

Restart and post a new HijackThis log and the Ewido log.

Did Ewido fix the problem then?

We need to remove that file though since it may cause problems. Yes, try uninstalling it from the Add/Remove panel then. But before you do that, I want you to install Spybot and install it. During the installation, it will ask you some questions. One of them is if you want to enable the resident protection - TeaTimer. Say yes to it. That will monitor (Live) any registry changes and allow you to either Allow that change or Deny it.

Also make sure your firewall is on just in case that uninstaller wants to gain access to the internet - choose Deny if it does.

Fix that entry in HijackThis and try deleting it.

Restart and run a new HijackThis scan to see if it came back.
