Welcome to Geeks To Go forum. [laugh]

Unfortunately, your operating system is completely unpatched. Therefore, please visit Microsoft's website HERE and follow steps 1 & 2.
Then read the information HERE . Please report back whether your Operating System was validated by copying the full validation message which
appears after Step 1 is complete. The message will start as follows: Thank you for running the Windows Validation Assistant...........

Thank you for running the Windows Validation Assistant. It appears that your Windows Product Key is valid.

This is a strong indicator that your operating system is genuine, however the Windows Validation Assistant cannot make a final determination.

To verify that you received a genuine Certificate of Authenticity and software CD, compare your anti-piracy features in the next section.

Compare Your Anti-Piracy Features
Select the method by which you acquired Windows and compare the anti-piracy features included with your product with the anti-piracy features included with genuine Microsoft software.

IMPORTANT you need to Move HijackThis to a permanent folder for the important backup feature to work properly.

To do this:

Go to My Computer (Windows key + E ), double click on C:
Click File > New > Folder

Name it HijackThis and unzip/move or download the program again to this folder.

Then :-

Rerun HJT,and put a checkmark beside these :-

O4 - Global Startup: Picture Package VCD Maker.lnk = ?

now close all windows and browsers and click FIX CHECKED

then reboot and post a fresh Hijackthis log. and let us know what program is telling you that you are infected, or what symptoms you are having.

my computer is still fairly slow. as an example, when i click on start it takes a couple of seconds for the menu to show up...it gradually appears. also, when i click on internet explorer my internet will not open, i have to go go aim and click on a link. is this due to my computer's age?
