It's still trying to finish the IE setup. Geez. Guess I'll have to get to that one next.
Ok, I'm back up.
Verizon InstallShield Wizard has begun . . .
Testing Connection.......
Stopped at troubleshooting and it will go on to tell me to call Verizon, my isp.l

The operation timed out.
Please click exit anjd try again later.
If it does not resolve the problem, please contact Verizon Tech Support

Yep -- jumped the gun a bit. Verizon was trying to set things up, but I cannot disconnect the router so it can find the modem, so I have to set it up.
I have a Microsoft Virtual Private Networking Adapter in my Network adapters list. Is this my modem????

Still no modem listed under modems, though.

modem wont list under modems as you are not really installing a modem in your computer. you need the files to connect to the modem/router
