Belarc will tell you. It does an inventory on the hardware and software and creates an HTML report that you can save and attach to a reply here as I did with the ZA uninstall instructions.

If you don't occasionally clean the inside of that computer then this whole problem could be as simple as an accumulation of dust.

My husband is great! He ran downstairs and lugged that ole' thing up here.

We can rule out the monitor. It's definitely not that. My old one looked just as bad as my new one!

I'm getting that file now. Will let you know what I got in a few.

Ok, I got the program and ran it on my computer. What information do you need from this info displayed. I know there is information here that need not be posted. Should I just PM the info to you?

This from Blackviper
You could have problems restoring a point created after September 8, 2001. Also, after applying the fix, you cannot restore a point BEFORE September 8, 2001. Have I convinced you of the reliability of this feature, yet?

Get rid of System Restore Service. Where do you find it?
Turning off "System Restore"
Start, Control Panel View All Options
Start --> Control Panel --> "View all Options" (if not already there) -->
System Performance Tab
System --> Performance Tab --> File System Button
Trouble Shooting Tab

Trouble Shooting Tab:

Check "Disable System Restore."

Also I am not Positive but I think you still have Malware and Zone alarm
I Have asked Metallica to check your log and advise you. We need a clean system
1st. Not trying to palm you off it could be a malware problem Once you are clean.
Then we look at the tech side, A clean log is a must 1st as I am sure some of that stuff
can cause a DOS (not ms dos)

And I should disable it and not use it?

And I don't quite understand what

some of that stuff can cause a DOS (not ms dos)

means???? What's a DOS?

Yes, I did:

Did you put the host & domain name in
