Device Disconnect during Standby/Hibernation Device disconnects during Stanby/Hiberna

I have a Toshiba laptop and whenever I am running it on battery power and close the lid to put it into either stanby mode or hibernation, I hear the "Device Disconnect" chime. I have no peripherals connected to it when I am using it on battery power. The only item that appears in the "Safely Remove Hardware" menu is my DVD-Rom/CD-RW drive. I think that it may be that device that is disconnecting and reconnecting. MY computer did not start doing that until recently; does anyone know how to correct the problem?
