I don't know how to post a "HiJack" log - my daughter has tried several times to remove aurora from my system with Ad-Aware & Norton - no luck. She doesn't know what else to do and my computer savvy stops at email.

Would truly be thankful for some help.

If you're still having trouble, We'll need you to use a free diagnostic tool, Hijack This. Follow the instructions in step five of this guide, and reply here with your log.

Most of what Hijack This lists lists will be harmless or even essential, DO NOT delete or modify anything yet! Someone will be along to tell you what steps to take after you post the contents of the scan results.

OK lets get this show on the road. You have several nasty infections, that we will have to tackle.

Please print out a copy of these instructions so that they are easy to follow and so that you have access to them, when you have to reboot your PC

Firstly please create a new folder on your C drive (for example C\HJT). Install HJT into that folder and run it from there. That way it can create backups if required.

we need to get rid of NewDotNet and mywebsearch. Go to Control Panel: Add/Remove Programs and remove both Newdotnet and mywebsearch if present. If newdotnet is not there, go here and follow Procedure 4: http://www.newdotnet.com/removal.html

Set your system to show hidden files. Click on link below, if you do not know how to do this

Next we need to download several programs. Do not run any of the programs until instructed to do so and follow the sequence of the instructions.

A malicious .DLL file is disrupting the LSP chain on your computer. We need to get rid of it.

1. Please download LSPFix from here.
2. Run the LSPFix.exe that you have just finished downloading.
3. Check the I know what I'm doing box.
4. In the Keep box you may see one or more instances of newdotnet dll.
5. Select every instance of newdotnet dll and move each one to the Remove box by clicking the >> button.
6. When you are done click Finish>>.

You have a nasty nail infection, and i don't mean on your fingers and toes :tazz:

We are going to hit this with a big hammer.

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here:

Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files. Do NOT run a scan yet.

Please download Nailfix from here:

Save it to the desktop but please do NOT run it yet.

Please download Cleanup from here:
Cleanup. Do not run it yet.

Set up PC to show hidden files.(Click link if you do not know how)
Show hidden files

Click Start > Run > and type in:

services.msc

Click OK.

In the services window find .System Startup Service (SvcProc)
Rightclick and choose "Properties". On the "General" tab under "Service Status" click the "Stop" button to stop the service. Beside "Startup Type" in the dropdown menu select "Disabled". Click Apply then OK. Exit the Services utility.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

For additional help in booting into Safe Mode, see the following site:

Once in Safe Mode, please double-click on nailfix.exe.
Click "Next" in the setup, then make sure "Run Nailfix" is checked and click "Finish".
Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly --- this is normal.

Then please run Ewido, and run a full scan. This may take some time, so go grab a coffee. Once it finds the first issue tick the box for all. Post the log from the scan here for me.

Then please run HijackThis, click Scan, and check:
