I have XP Home with 4 family user accounts. when one of us goes into our account a large search bar appears at the bottom of the desktop. the choices in it are Make Money, Investing, Music,Travel,Casino,Mortgage, and others listings. When i right click in the bar a dialog box appears and at the bottom of it i click on Properties and the title is Search Now! and the URL address is http://search200.com...gh/newpass.html. What is this and how can I get rid of it?

Also, at different times a dialog box just appears. It's called 16 bit MS-DOS Subsystem and under the heading it says C:/DOCUME~1/Owner/LOCALS~1/Temp/19167eB.exe C:/Windows/System32/AUTOEXEC.NT. The system is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.
Any help fixing these will be appreciated. Thanks, Jim

Hi gtoman. Welcome to GTG. <_<

Let us take a closer look at what is running on your PC. We'll need you to use a free diagnostic tool (HiJackThis) and post a log back here with the results.

Click the HijackThis Guide in my signature, download it and follow the instructions in the guide.

Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, DO NOT delete or modify anything yet! Someone will be along to tell you what steps to take after you post the contents of the scan results.

Hi Starbury:

Please download the Hijack This file in my signature and follow the directions and post a new log starting a New post. Putting your posts in someone else's causes major confusion. After you start a new thread, and post your log we'll take a look and help you out. <_<
