Hi, I have aproblem and need help quick! Norton found a virus on my computer. It could not delete the file. The virus was W32.Alcra.B worm. I went to the norton site and tried to follow the instuctions for removal. However I am unable to get into my registry. A windows prompt looking window pops open for a sec and thats all. Nortons site had a tool to download to fix this problem but it did not work. I also found here on this site a link to click and download to fix this problem, but that did not work either. I am very worried. I need to get in and delete the keys that were added by this virus. When I scan my computer now it says it is clean, but I cant get into my registry! Please help! Thanks so much!

Howdy and welcome to G2G:

Please go to the malware forum in my signature and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the CLICK HERE .

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.

It's the underlined "Malware Forum".. Clicking that is the link..

As for your post in Malware, then it is simply a matter of waiting for one of the guru's there to have a go at it!!
