I am new here... I'm desparatly looking for help to get rid of the 9ringtone pop up, 214.paypopup and it's similar others. I run adaware and spybot, but that didn't help. I also run Ewido and CWShredder. The CWShredder and Ewido keep finding " VX2.Look2Me" and removing it, but on the next run of the CWShredder and Ewido it's comes up again as found. . I would grately appriciate if someone could please help me. Thanks in advance. Here is my Hijack log and Ewido log:

You have the latest version of VX2. Download L2mfix from

http://www.atribune....oads/l2mfix.exe

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

I Run Find Log. A second or two after typing 1 and then pressing enter i got the following message "C/Windows32/cmd. exe.
C/Windows/system32/AutoExec.NT. The file is not suitable for
running MS-DOS and Miscrosoft Windows applications. Chose
"close" to determinate the application.
I got an option to close or to ignore. i chose ignore and this is the log I got:

L2MFIX find log 1.03

Close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.

From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing 2 and then pressing enter, then press any key to reboot your computer. After a reboot, your desktop and icons will appear, then disappear (this is normal). L2mfix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new hijackthis log, and we'll clean up what's left. :tazz:

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder unless you are asked to do so!

1. Boot into safemode to do this keep tapping F8 on your keyboard while your PC is starting up you will get a menu select safemode.

2. While in safemode open Hijackthis and click scan. Then tick and fix the following in Hijackthis with all windows closed except Hijackthis.

I run the Hijakthis in the safe mode and run fix to all the above items. After fixing i run Hijakthis again in the safe mode and the above items seemed to be erased as they didn't appear in the log. After rebooting I run Hijakthis again in normal mode and all the problematic items that I fixed appear again. Below is the Hijakthis log that I got in the normal mode:

1. While TeaTimer is an excellent tool for the prevention of spyware, it can sometimes prevent HijackThis from fixing certain things.
Please disable TeaTimer for now until you are clean. TeaTimer can be re-activated once your HijackThis log is clean.
  • Open Spybot Search & Destroy.
  • In the Mode menu click "Advanced mode" if not already selected.
  • Choose "Yes" at the Warning prompt.
  • Expand the "Tools" menu.
  • Click "Resident".
  • Uncheck the "Resident "TeaTimer" (Protection of overall system settings) active." box.
  • In the File menu click "Exit" to exit Spybot Search & Destroy.
2. Open Hijackthis and click scan. Then tick and fix the following in Hijackthis with all windows closed except Hijackthis.

Your log is clean :tazz:

Here are some tips, to reduce the potential for spyware infection in the future, I strongly recommend installing the following applications:
  • Spywareblaster <= SpywareBlaster will prevent spyware from being installed.
  • Spywareguard <= SpywareGuard offers realtime protection from spyware installation attempts.
  • How to use Ad-Aware to remove Spyware <= If you suspect that you have spyware installed on your computer, here are instructions on how to download, install and then use Ad-Aware.
  • How to use Spybot to remove Spyware <= If you suspect that you have spyware installed on your computer, here are instructions on how to download, install and then use Spybot. Similar to Ad-Aware, I strongly recommend both to catch most spyware.
To protect yourself further:
  • IE/Spyad <= IE/Spyad places over 4000 websites and domains in the IE Restricted list which will severely impair attempts to infect your system. It basically prevents any downloads (Cookies etc) from the sites listed, although you will still be able to connect to the sites.
  • MVPS Hosts file <= The MVPS Hosts file replaces your current HOSTS file with one containing well know ad sites etc. Basically, this prevents your computer from connecting to those sites by redirecting them to 127.0.0.1 which is your local computer
  • Google Toolbar <= Get the free google toolbar to help stop pop up windows.
I also suggest that you delete any files from "temp", "tmp" folders. In Internet Explorer, click on "Tools" => "Internet Options" => "Delete Files" and select the box that says "Delete All Offline Content" and click on "OK" twice. Also, empty the recycle bin by right clicking on it and selecting "Empty Recycle Bin". These steps should be done on a regular basis.
