Hi,

I have the following file on my XP Pro SP2 PC
(AMD Athlon 1.3, w/512MB RAM, IE 6.x)...

C:\Program Files\npss\ottr.exe

That is the only file in the "npps" folder and there is another
subfolder in the "npps" folder, called, "orat", but it is empty.

Nothing picks it up as spyware/malware, nor a virus.
I have used AdAware, AboutBlaster, CWSShredder,
HiJack This!, Spyware Doctor, Spybot, AVG AntiVirus,
Trend Micro AntiVirus, etc., in both Safe and Normal
boot modes.

I use Teatimer, which is part of Spybot and watches
the registry. If I block it from loading, after removing
it from the "Run" statement in the registry and delete
the folder and run Registry Mechanic (tried this in
both Safe and Normal modes), it just finds another
way to load and doesn't appear in the registry.

I am at my wits end with this. I have even uninstalled
everything I could think of, before I saw this load
and yet, it still appears, even after I carefully removed
every single file and registry entry for each program,
including the "Application Data" paths, etc..

I also followed the instructions for 10 steps on another
web page in these forums and that didn't work either.

Here is my HiJack This! log...

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Also, what is that "??pPatch" line?

And one more thing please... when I boot up, a folder is created
in my temp folder, called "emsd", which I can delete. Anyone know
what that is???
