Sony Vaio Pentium 4, 2.4GHz 480 MB Ram running Windows XP home.
The problem is that none of my USB ports are working properly. The front two USB ports don't recognize anything plugged into them.( all USB cords being plugged into have been used on the computer before) Also the 4 ports in the back bring up an error when I connect the USB into them. It says "USB Device Not Recognized" I looked at the Device Manager, and it says:
SiS 7001 PCI to USB Open Host Controller
SiS 7001 PCI to USB Open Host Controller
SiS 7001 PCI to USB Open Host Controller
Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller (there's a yellow ! next to this. I assumed the driver was insalled wrong but when i try to reinstall it, it says "A error occurred during the installation of the device: The driver installation file for this device is missing a necessary entry. This may be because the INF was written for Windows 95 or later. Contact your hardware vendor.)

That's all if gives me. Nothing is connected to any of the USB ports. Also I uninstalled all of my USB drivers and rebooted. It properly installed those top three but when it came to the forth it gave me that error. Can someone please walk me through the solution?
