Computer locks up constantly

My comp locks up all the time. By locks up, I mean... It completely freezes... no input devices work. Cold reboot is only option.

I tried the "Start Here" thread, and I made it all the way to the "ewido" section. Problem is that running ewido locks it up every time as well.

How can I fix the problem If the solution causes the same symptoms?

do you get any error messages? check your event viewer and see if there are any errors getting logged there.

These where the two under System:

Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for a transaction response from the ewido security suite control service.

The Computer Browser service depends on the Server service which failed to start because of the following error: 
The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.

Nothing under apps.

well the first one is obviously where ewido locked up on you...and the other one is ambiquous...even for windows....

see if you can manually start this server service...right click on my computer > manage >services > look for server and right click it and pick start

its disabled. Should I set it to manual or automatic before I start it?

EDIT:

set it to manual... ran ewido again... froze before it even loaded all the way.

try starting the service...doesn't matter if its on automatic or not

i started it, and it made no difference.

now today for some reason I can't even open event viewer

ok got a message from a malware expert...you need to post your log in the malware forum and they will help you get clean...then we can try to work on anything else that's left
