Hi iam currently having problems with my sound card but i suspect this may be related to a motherboard driver problem.

Heres my pc spec {i will explain problem after }

Windows xp home service pack 2

amd athlon xp ,1600mhz {16x 100}1900 +

Msi kt4 ultra - fsir{ms6590}

via vt 8377 apollo kt400

terratec dmx6 fire 24/96

nvidea geforce fx 5200

Please bare with me as iam pretty new to this .

My main problem is i have no sound on my pc ,when i put my sound card in the slot my pc trys to load the drivers i then get an error saying drivers arn't digitally signed , i click continue any way it trys to copy files but then i recive another error message saying that the data is in valid , ive been to the terratec website downloaded the new drivers and i still get the same problems :tazz:

I then downloaded the EVEREST SOFTWARE and done a report with that looking at the report some icons i can click on ie motherboard sound card ect and i get an option to download some drivers i either get taken to a dead link or the drivers i download do not do anything .

I have checked my audio devices and it says no audio device installed .

Any advice would be great and i can provide more info if need be

Thanks peeps ;)

What version driver are you trying to install, or what version is installed now?

The driver version is the version number of the software.

Try installing the driver from HERE. Choose the driver dated Aug 29 2003... download and install it.

If it doesn't work, we'll need to find a more updated driver.

I doubt it's the motherboard drivers, but you could load updated ones if you have them. The Nvidia drivers shouldn't affect your sound drivers.

I was reading the Terratec site and it seems they have a solution on this page. I don't know if you tried it, but try looking into it. HERE'S is the page. It's an Acrobat document and concerns some registry entries. Hope it works.

edited.... oops... it's the second on the list on the page.
