Hi All! This is my 1st post ever. I usually read the other post and can manage to use the utilities and clean up on my on, but not this time. Along with alot of other popups Winfixer 2005 keeps trying to install. Also I keep getting the same popup from a mortgage company or something "USA Lenders". Also anytime I search for anything in yahoo or google or any internet search my desktop folder will open up on its own. I've run Ad-Aware SE, CW Shredder, SpyBot S&D, Ewido, and Trend House Call. I also have Nortons 2004 on my system, but the subscription is expired so I cant update the virus definitions. Each removal program finds things says it removes them, but as soon as I open IE the popups are all still there.

Thanks ahead of time for any help given!

Before you fix anything could you please surf to:
http://www.thespykil...x.php?topic=5.0
Follow the instructions there to upload:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\nrmrzpys.dll
That seems to be a new infection (probably the reason why you couldn't clean it yourself)

Check the items listed below in HijackThis, close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - _{1C78AB3F-A857-482e-80C0-3A1E5238A565} - (no file)

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [utdzenc] C:\WINDOWS\utdzenc.exe

O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {CD67F990-D8E9-11d2-98FE-00C0F0318AFE} - (no file)

O16 - DPF: {9522B3FB-7A2B-4646-8AF6-36E7F593073C} - http://a19.g.akamai....23/cpbrkpie.cab

Reboot into safe mode and delete:
C:\WINDOWS\xyktsvc.exe

Then (still in safe mode) use the Disk Cleanup Utility to empty all your Temp folders.

Hi, Metallica! Thanks so much for your reply. I did everything you said "including the file upload" and then browsed around and the popups are a WHOLE lot better. It seems the "USA Lender" thing is gone. Also have not had any Winfixer Popups as of yet. The desktop folder pop up seems to be cleared up too. Only had a couple of pop ups. Seems like it is only when I first open IE, I will get one right off. When I close that one, I'm not getting anymore behind it like before. It is not bad at all now, but should I go ahead and run everything again in case its still a bad one lingering that just hasn't got set in good yet? Thank You Thank You! You guys are great

Here it is Metallica, I have not run any other clean up tools yet. An "iccee" search browser opens sometimes, and just a very few others.

The only thing loading with IE that I don't really fully trust is:

O2 - BHO: Shareaza Web Download Hook - {0EEDB912-C5FA-486F-8334-57288578C627} - C:\Program Files\Etomi\Plugins\RazaWebHook.dll

I am not sure if it is necessary for Shareaza to work.

The rest of your log looks good now. :tazz:

OK........thanks so much. The pop ups are definitely better and I can live with them like they are now. So I think I'll just leave well enough alone, because I use Sharezza alot. I'd rather live with the few pop ups left than to lose Sharezza. You helped me fix the biggest of the proplems, Thank you so much again.
