[dd5099]

Have some issues, did some checking and can't seem to get rid of it. I have run Spysweep, NAV, and tried to manually delete some files to no avail. I was told NAV found it but it was too late. Wallpaper was changed to reflect an intrusion and where to go to fix it, I did not... Can't connect to ANY website, have DSL, so I have been unable to check for updates, but unless someone changed was set for auto.

When I run Spysweeper it finds:

adware CWS_MSAS
Trojan horse Trojan-Downloader-Zlob
Adware Virtualmaid Toolbar

It says it's deleting and doesn't. I have turned off the System Restore feature and unhid my files...

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.

Thanks, sorry, thought I was in the malware forum. I've tried all listed only with the versions of software that I have, and since I can't seem to connect to a website having a difficult time downloading the stuff it sounds like I should have had.

I read the list and did what I could with what I have. Ran clean up and got rid of some adware items that weren't going away before, ran spysweeper AGAIN and still finds the trojan horse, ran shred it and it did not find any files to delete, ran NAV and found nothing, ran spysweeper again, still sees Trojan. Changed my selection for system restore and tried everything again, STILL FINDS THE TROJAN!
Can't get online with my DSL - won't connect with any website to download anything else suggested. I really could use the help.

Hello, Thanks for the reply. I really appreciate it. Just an update as well, I was able to download the programs you guys suggest from a neighbor's PC and copy them to mine, so all have been run, numerous times... I also tried some fixes my self after searching your site and numerous others. The only thing I can't seem to get rid of is the trojan. Spy Sweeper is the only thing that finds it as well, but it can't seem to get rid if it.

When I connect to the internet all is well, but slow, (on DSL), after about 2 minutes the activity lights on my pc and modem start going nuts. I'm on line long enough to try to get updates then I disconnect. Still can't get to some sites. Any here's my log. ( I know everything I just told you you know from the log anyway...)

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.
