Hello. I have been having a problem with my computer lately. Whenever I first turn it on, the system will boot up, but after a second or two, I get this error message on a blue screen:

"A fatal exception 0E has occured at 0028:C0287F04 in VXD CMM (06) + 00004F04. The current application will be terminated"

And it prompts me to press any key to terminate the application and continue, or press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart. I always have to restart.

Any ideas what this means, or what I can do?

Thanks so much! This forum is awesome!

Boot the PC then keep tapping the F8 key right after the beep until you get options, select command prompt only, type scanreg.exe /fix then press enter, when it says repaired, press enter then press ctrl + alt + delete keys together to reboot.

Click start, programmes, accessories, system tools, system information, tools, run system file checker and replace any files it asks for from the 98 CD
