i use IE and the web page loads properly.. hyperlinked thumbs show as pictures when iclick on them then i open a website url

in firefox mozilla the same webpage the hyper link works.. but the image does not show.. it is just that icon that shows where images would be if they worked

as far as i can tell my html is the same as anywhere else.. here's a line to bring up a cnn image that if i click on it i to go cnn.com

<a href= "http://www.cnn.com" > <IMG SRC = "C:\cnnpic.gif" > </a><b

when i launch ie i see a cnnpic.gif
when i launch mozilla firefox i just see an icon that is placeholder for failed image load. a small square .. no image to click on...

clicking either the gif or the icon in either browser.. takes me to cnn.com..

why wont that image display in firefox? .. i have show images enabled.. and only show images from this website unchecked

any help is appreciated .. thanks in advance
