it helps you find out what the name of your sound card is, and you can search for updates to your sound card.

Look under the name of your motherboard/PC, and download the driver of that. Example of a name, "hp pavilion a247b."

There are a lot of selections, but don't download any if you can't find your motherboard model/name on it.
What is your motherboard/PC model?
You should try google searching your soundcard's name.

Can anyone give further help? Please, thamasta really needs his sound restored.
Again, his motherboard is a nVIDIA nForce2 IGP.

If its static then....
Well if its not i can try to help you with my following instructions.
1. Start > Run > dxdiag
2. Click on sound tab.
3. Test the sound and see if that helps.
I don't know much so don't flame me for my stupidity
Maybe lowering acceleration might help? Reinstalling the drivers?

If its static then....
