Aye matees

I'm hoping to get some answers on an error screen I keep getting.

I'm tring to install xp.
I get to the install page (which reads 39 mins to go or what ever)

anyhow a fatal error screen pops up at this stage.

Error installation failed D:\1386\asms. error message
the request could not be performed because of I/O device error

fatal error one of the components that windows needs to continue setup could not be installed

Anyone have any clues??

Any help would be grrrreatly appreciated

Thanks

If you're still stuck on this, make sure the CD is spotless and remove any USB leads etc, only have the keyboard and mouse connected
