I have 7 PC's 2 are servers for online games and website hosting and the rest are for family members
FYI 3 i found at our local landfill only needing P.Supplies (1)1.3ghz celeron HPackard loaded
(2) 1.6ghz AMD custom built all loaded up & an old PII 300mgz for my youngest
the thread is for my game server the celeron thats why a no rush was placed in the thread. the 2 others were important to get running because their work related

I see Ewdio running on your system have you run a scan with it recently ?

yes and it was clean
I dont know what MarketBrowser is
this pc was a found item all i have in it is a p. supply
i thought malware was slowing it down. do you know of a scan that would help me get more speed from it?

And I would like to get rid of that mcafee anti virus it wont go away.

MarketBrowser
Have you tried removing McAfee through Add/Remove programs ?

Did you try and uninstall it through Add/Remove programs ?
Are there any entries in Add/Remove regarding McAfee

yes i did do add remove but this error used to come up on re-boot regarding mcafee after doing it
so i deleted all i coud find regarding mcafee. used a regestry cleaner also and deleted some stuff that way as well. now no error but still stuff in pc

Weather bug is gone,

• Go to Start | Run and type this in the box services.msc
• Locate these services, 'McAfee.com McShield or McShield and McAfee.com VirusScan Online Realtime Engine 'or MCVSRte then right click and select properties.
• Under Service Status: select Stop
• In the drop down box labeled, Startup Type: select Disabled

Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted pests. Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox. Restrict the actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer.
Download Spyware Blaster

Keep AD-Aware. and Spybot 1.3 handy, Check them for updates prior to running and run them weekly
Same with your Anti Virus,

For an added check run an online virus scan, you can use one of the 2 below,
TrendMicro's HouseCall
ActiveScan

Be sure and give the Temp folders a cleaning out now and then as well, Make sure after you clean your Temp files to empty out your Recycle bin as well.
For ease use the following program
Download and install Cleanup
Run "Cleanup" and when it has finished, Reboot

Remeber to Check Windows for updates

Probably a good time to create a new restore point See Here for XP
