Just recently my computer throws me off the internet (DSL) if I try to watch any video (mlb.com or any TV station websites) or when I attempt to listen to any audio sites as well. It says IE has encountered a problem and needs to shut down. In the details of this it shows the problem to be in wininet.dll and it doesn't seem to matter if I am using IE, SBC browser or firefox...same result with all. I am stumped. Any suggestions or cures for this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.....Paul :tazz:

In XP, chkdsk serves basically the same function as scandisk did in Win9x.

Go to Start/run... type in chkdsk /f

If windows say it cannot run at the moment, confirm to have it run at next startup.

Hope this helps with your problem.

Good Afternoon,
I am copying and pasting a list of my system info from the Dell website. It is a desktop----384mb ram. I am guessing this wininet.dll problem is a browser hijacker of some sort...just need help finding a cure. Appreciate your help!
Thanks....

Paul
