Like alot of people, I have a hotmail account.

Whenever I open my hotmail to view the contents, a link is made in internet Explorer which allows someone else to go through the history and access my account without having to login.

The link looks like this..."by10fd.bay10.hotmail.com"

Is there any way fo closing this link permanently without having to remember to clear your history?

Greg

I went an did as you asked, and there are 9 files that I cannot delete.
I even went into the regedit to see if the files are listed in there, and they aren't.

The files look like this....

~DE--D- where the - represents the different numbers.
~WRS0004
JETD962

After deleting everything else, I still get my original problem with hotmail, and my excite online mail servers

...........

pls paste the hijaskthis log....

then we will see the problem.

Let's start with a free program. Ad-aware.

Using Ad-aware: Open Ad-Aware and use the Check for updates now link. Download and accept the latest reference file. When finished click the Start button. When done scanning, the Abort button will change to Next. Click the Next button. Right-click in the Scanning Results window and click "Select all objects". Then click the "Next" button and confirm that you want to delete the selected entries.

When finished, Reboot your computer. Finally, reply to this post with a new HiJackThis log so we can look for any nasties that may have been missed. <_<

download this program...

which internet browser do you have?

first go on you control panel, click add/remove program, and deleted this :

- any toolbar
- SysShield Tools

You may wish to print out a copy of these instructions to follow while you complete this procedure.

Please save Hijack This in a permanent folder (i.e. C:\HJT). This ensures backups are saved and accessible.

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.

Whenever I open my hotmail to view the contents, a link is made in internet Explorer which allows someone else to go through the history and access my account without having to login.

Clicking that history link may return you to a HotMail page, but you shouldn't be able to view the mail without logging in. Have you enabled an option to log you in automatically on your computer?
