Basic question. What are the colors for negative and positive from the case to the motherboard?

I'm guessing you're talking about all the colored wires coming from the front of the computer that connects to the motherboard.

Unfortunately there seems to be no standardized color scheme as I've seen many different colored wires in different cases.

The only polarization you really have to worry about are the front led indicators. And for that matter, if you happen to connect them up backwards, no damage will occur... they simply won't light up. So... just switch the wires around until they light up.

The On and Reset buttons are simply momentary serial switches and have no polarity... in other words, it doesn't matter which way they connect to the motherboard

The case speaker wire colors are normally red and black, with red being positive. Although a lot of times, it too doesn't care which way it's connected. Red on the positive side is preferred.
