Hi I was just wondering if someone could help me with this problem I'm having with my DVD drive.
I just got a bunch of new parts to build a computer with, my last one being an old slow HP. I got a new motherboard, new cpu, new DVD drive and a new graphic card. I'm using my old harddrive in the new computer.
I installed everything fine and the computer starts up and I can access all my files fine, but my problem is that the DVD drive isn't recognized by the operating system, it just doesn't show up along in My Computer or windows explorer. It lights up so it must have power and it's recognized by the bios, but i can't access it or anything.
I put the old harddrive and the new DVD drive back in the old computer and booted it up, and the DVD showed up fine. So why isn't it showing up in the new computer even though it's there in the bios. I run windows ME. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
