forgot to mention--
the file c:\temporary\install201.exe is the program that my zone alarm asks me to install when i try to open windows media player, i always say no and then the 2nd thought terms of service open open with the option box--yes or no. i deleted this program once before too..
also, should i empty out my recycle bin? the files i was instructed to remove are still there?
Thnks,
Vee

You have a worm. Uninstall the following program in safe mode:
C:\Program Files\DivX\DivX Player\DivX Player.exe
Also, uninstall this: stcloader or second thought spyware - anything named similarly
Read this:
http://securityrespo...hllw.cozit.html
Have you ever had Kazaa? I want you to do a search for it and make sure all files are showing. Remove any traces of it.
Find this file and delete it also
c:\temporary\install201.exe<<
stcloader<<this folder
And, yes, please, delete the files and empty the recycle bin. Until you do that, nothing will improve.
AFter you uninstall divx player, run housecall anti-virus again and the cleaner, run adaware and clean out your temp. files, and post a new log.
Until you install sp1, I believe you will continue to have problems. I think you are getting infected just as soon as it gets fixed, and we are both spinning our wheels.
