My computer used to restart regularly while I was in the middle of doing something, and couldn't work out why.
Eventually someone asked me how hot my cpu was running. I'm running an asus motherboard so ran the asus probe which told me I was running right at the limit so the overheat protection on the board was kicking in.
Some work with a vacuum cleaner to clear out 2 years worth of dust and those problems are over.
Might be something worth looking at if you've had your pc for a while.

Look in the event logs (Admin tools)
Turn off Auto Reboot
Control Panel>System>Advanced>Start Up & Recovery> Settings
