Macromedia flash and shockwave malfunction!

Hi everyone! As the topic says, my flash and shockwave malfunctioned! They don't work at all so I can't view many important parts of webpages.
I went to the macromedia site and followed all of their instructions on uninstalling and reinstalling, however when I click the install options, nothing happens! :tazz:

I get a blank box with either a little red x in the corner or the little red square, green circle and blue triangle in the corner.

Any ideas? I'll try anything!
