hey, i just built a new pc ( http://secure.newegg...itle=UNCLE TONY )
and in the process of installing windows XP i get a fatal error:

System Setup Log- (C:\Windows\Setuperr.log)

Error:
SXS.DLL:Syntax error in manifest or Policy file "D:\1386\asms\10\MSFT\Windows\GDiplus\gdiplus.man"on line 4
***
Error:
Installation failed: D:\1386|asms.error message: The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error
***
Fatal Error:
One of the componets that windows needs to continue setup could not be installed
The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.

I have cleaned the disk, checked all the cables, and reformated the disk(quick and slow) but am still getting the same error.

Thanks in advance
