whenever i open my internet explorer my homepage is
http://files/Interne...er/iexplore.exe
but when i go to tools>internet options amd go to the homepage box it still says www.google.co.uk

If you've done all the recommendations for removing malware and it still redirects you to that page, you may have a serious browser hijacker. Please go here and post a Hijack This log in that forum to see if you have any malware left on your system.
