I've seen similar repairs, but I don't want to delete any critical files... I've tried steps one thru five and the virus is still there. Here's my hijackthis log:

Unzip HJT into it's own permanent folder before doing anything in order for it to create backups. (Not a temporary folder & not on the desktop).
Please create a directory on your c: drive called c:\hijackthis (and download) and unzip hijackthis into that directory. Run the program from that directory from now on. It is essential that you follow these steps or certain important features of the program will not function correctly.

Download CWShredder

Download SpSeHjfix.zip to the desktop. Then right click on the desktop and select new >folder, name it spfix unzip SpSeHjfix.zip into the new folder.

Disconnect from the net and Close ALL OPEN PROGRAMS.
Run 'SpSeHjfix'. and click on "Start Disinfection".
When it's finished it will reboot your machine to finish the cleaning process.
The tool creates a log of the fix which will appear in the folder.

If it doesn't find any of the SE files or any hidden reinstallers it will say system clean and not go on to next stage

Once it is finished, run CWShredder - Hit The FIX button!

Reboot and move to the next part of the fix.

Warning Note: On a few occasions it has been reported that after using the SPSEHjfix you cannot open Internet Explorer. To fix this, go into Control Panel >Internet Options >Programs & press reset web settings, then you can set your home page to what you want on the general tab.

Place a shortcut to Panda ActiveScan on your desktop.

Find and delete these files and folders (if they are still there):

Open the smitRem folder, then double click the RunThis.bat file to start the tool. Follow the prompts on screen.
Wait for the tool to complete and disk cleanup to finish.

The tool will create a log named smitfiles.txt in the root of your drive, eg; Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Please post that log along with all others requested in your next reply.

• If you are unsure of any entry found select none for now.
• When the scan is finished, click the Save report button at the bottom of the screen.
• Save the report to your desktop

Close Ewido

Next go to Control Panel click Display > Desktop > Customize Desktop > Web > Uncheck "Security Info" if present.

Reboot back into Windows and click the Panda ActiveScan shortcut, then do a full system scan.
Save the scan log and post it along with a new HijackThis Log, the contents of the smitfiles.txt (C:\smitfiles.txt) log and the Ewido Log by using Add Reply.
Let us know if any problems persist.

Finally through with all of the scanning. The link to CWshredder still will not open.
Here are my log reports you asked for - activescan, Hijackthis, smitfiles and Ewido.
Only problems with scans were that system could not delete c:\windows\system32\dcom_9.dll in HijackThis and a "good copy of wininet.dll was not found" with the smitRem.

Save the file as C:\remove.bat and make sure the "Save as type" field says "All files". Then please restart your computer and press F8 as it reboots, as though you were going to start in Safe Mode. At the startup menu, choose "Command Prompt Only" or "Safe Mode with Command Prompt". At the command prompt type cd c:\ and press Enter (make sure to put a space between the "cd" and the "c:\"). Then type remove and press Enter. When that is finished, restart your computer.

Because I need you to download Service Pack 2 for a clean version of 'wininet.ll', but first you have to be clean! And you need CWShredder for this infection....

If you can download it please do this:

Download CWShredder from here: http://majorgeeks.co...ad.php?det=3019

Download SpSeHjfix.zip to the desktop. Then right click on the desktop and select new >folder, name it spfix unzip  SpSeHjfix.zip into the new folder.

Disconnect from the net and Close ALL OPEN PROGRAMS.
Run 'SpSeHjfix'. and click on "Start Disinfection".
When it's finished it will reboot your machine to finish the cleaning process.
The tool creates a log of the fix which will appear in the folder.

If it doesn't find any of the SE files or any hidden reinstallers it will say system clean and not go on to next stage

Once it is finished, run CWShredder - Hit The FIX button!

Reboot and post a new HJT log and the log that was created by 'SpSeHjfix'.

Warning Note: On a few occasions it has been reported that after using the SPSEHjfix you cannot open Internet Explorer. To fix this, go into Control Panel >Internet Options >Programs & press reset web settings, then you can set your home page to what you want on the general tab.

Please go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com and following the prompts (Get updated to SP-2).

Then reboot your computer.

Again go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com and following the prompts. (For other updates available)

Then reboot again and post a new HijackThis log.

I think you are clean, but to be sure you have to run SmitRem.exe again and do a scan with Panda ActiveScan:

Unzip HJT into it's own permanent folder before doing anything in order for it to create backups. (Not a temporary folder & not on the desktop).
Please create a directory on your c: drive called c:\hijackthis (and download) and unzip hijackthis into that directory. Run the program from that directory from now on. It is essential that you follow these steps or certain important features of the program will not function correctly.

Scan again with HijackThis and check the following items:

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page =

After checking these items, close all browser windows except HijackThis and click "Fix checked".

Reboot your computer into safe mode (Instructions)

Open the smitRem folder, then double click the RunThis.bat file to start the tool. Follow the prompts on screen.
Wait for the tool to complete and disk cleanup to finish.

The tool will create a log named smitfiles.txt in the root of your drive, eg; Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Please post that log along with all others requested in your next reply.

Reboot into normal mode.

Run Panda's online virus scan and perform a full system scan: Panda ActiveScan

Save the scan log and post it along with a new HijackThis Log and the contents of the smitfiles.txt (C:\smitfiles.txt) log in your next reply.
